Clemson coach Dabo Swinney fires back at Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd for calling Tigers ‘a fraud’ Clemson proved all the doubters wrong Monday night and head coach Dabo Swinney had a special message for one media member. Following the team's 35-31 National Championship upset win over Alabama, Swinney spoke about the media’s need to change the narrative about a Crimson Tide team many thought the Tigers couldn’t beat. He said they “left no doubt” during the game and he called out Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd, who called Clemson “a fraud.” “The guy that called us a fraud, ask Alabama if we’re a fraud. Was the name Colin Cowherd? I never met him, don’t know him. Ask Alabama if we’re a fraud. Ask Ohio State if we’re a fraud. Ask Oklahoma if we’re a fraud. The only fraud is that guy, ’cause he didn’t do his homework. I hope y’all print that,” Swinney said.In November, Cowherd called the team a fraud on his radio show “The Herd.” At the time, he thought that USC was a better team and did not believe in the Tigers. “Clemson’s a fraud. Clemson is going to get their ears boxed by whoever they play. They should have three losses, maybe four. I don’t buy into Clemson, they’re the New York Giants of college football. I don’t care what their record is, I don’t buy into them,” Cowherd said. “And I had Clemson in the final four, so I should be rooting for ’em. I got no dog in the fight here. I think USC is the second-best team in the country and Vegas agrees.”Cowherd’s comments apparently served as bulletin-board material for Clemson. The team shocked the world by overcoming a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter. Down 28-24 late in the game, quarterback Deshaun Watson led the Tigers down right down the field against the best defense in college football. He found receiver Hunter Renfrow in the end zone for the game-winning two-yard touchdown with one second remaining. The National Championship win was the second title in the history of the program. It was Clemson's first since winning it all in 1981. Tags : news, technology, sports, health, news today, world news,US news, today news, current news ex: nydailynews.com

Clemson Football: Dabo Swinney gave his team a rousing speech in the locker room after the Tigers won the 2015 ACC Championship Game against North Carolina. Of course there was the obligatory dancing as well in this ACC Must See Moment! SUBSCRIBE: http://bit.ly/Oqg3iE The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) is a collegiate athletic conference in the United States in which its fifteen member universities compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA's) Division I, with its football teams competing in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), the highest levels for athletic competition in US-based collegiate sports. The ACC sponsors competition in twenty-five sports with many of its member institutions' athletic programs held in high regard nationally. ACC teams and athletes have claimed dozens of national championships in multiple sports throughout the conference's history. Generally, the ACC's top athletes and teams in any particular sport in a given year are considered to be among the top collegiate competitors in the nation. The ACC is considered to be one of the six collegiate power conferences, all of which enjoy extensive media coverage and automatic qualifying for their football champion into the Bowl Championship Series (BCS). With the advent of the College Football Playoff in 2014, the ACC will be one of five conferences with a contractual tie-in to an "access bowl", the successors to the BCS. Founded in 1953 in Greensboro, North Carolina, by seven universities located in the South Atlantic States, the conference added additional members in late 1953, 1979, 1991, 2004, and 2013. The 2004 and 2013 additions extended the conference's footprint into the Northeast and Midwest. The most recent expansion in 2013 saw the additions of the University of Notre Dame, the University of Pittsburgh, and Syracuse University. In 2012, the University of Maryland's Board of Regents voted to withdraw from the ACC to join the Big Ten Conference. On November 28, 2012, the ACC's Council of Presidents voted unanimously to invite the University of Louisville as a full member, replacing Maryland.
